  "body_es_text": "Recuerde que Control F es una opción que le permite buscar en la totalidad del texto\n\n\nIr al final del documento\n\n- Usted está en la última versión de la norma -\n\nCrea Zona Protectora Río Toro\nFicha articulo\n\n\n\n\n\nFecha de generación: 4/5/2026 19:04:04\n\nN° 22838-MIRENEM\n\n\n\n\n\nEL PRESIDENTE DE LA REPÚBLICA\n\n\n\n\n\nY EL MINISTRO DE RECURSOS NATURALES, ENERGÍA Y MINAS\n\n\n\n\n\nEn uso de las facultades que les confiere el artículo 140, incisos 3) y 18) de la Constitución\nPolítica y con fundamento en el artículos 10, incisos b) e i), 36 y 37 de la Ley Forestal No 7174.\n\n\n\n\n\nConsiderando:\n\n\n\n\n\n1 °-Que la función primordial de las Zonas Protectoras es la protección del suelo, la regulación del\nrégimen hidrológico, la conservación del ambiente y las cuencas hidrográficas.\n\n\n\n\n\n2°-Que existen áreas de interés ecológico, turístico y áreas de recarga acuífera de cuencas\nsumamente importantes para el abastecimiento de agua, que están siendo alteradas por la acción del\nhombre en sus diversas actividades, especialmente la agrícola y ganadera.\n\n\n\n\n\n3°-Que es fundamental proteger apropiadamente la Cuenca del Río Toro mediante medidas adecuadas que\ngaranticen su conservación a futuro,\n\n\n\n\n\n4°-Que en el área de influencia se desarrolla actualmente el Proyecto Hidroeléctrico Toro 1 y Toro\n2, integrado al Sistema Nacional Interconectado (SNI).\n\n\n\n\n\nPor tanto,\n\n\n\n\n\nDECRETAN:\n\n\n\n\n\nArtículo 1°-Créase la Zona Protectora Río Toro, cuyos límites están comprendidos en las Hojas\nCartográficas Poás, Naranjo y Quesada, Escala 1:50.000, Instituto Geográfico Nacional y se describen\ncomo sigue: Partiendo de un punto ubicado en el cauce del Río Pozo Azul, a una altitud de 1.300 m\n.s.n.m., en las coordenadas 249000 N y 509280 E, el límite inicia con una línea recta con rumbo\nSuroeste hasta el punto de coordenadas 247300 N y 509150 E, correspondiente al punto Gato de la Red\nTrigonométrica Nacional, de altitud 1462 m .s.n.m.; continúa con rumbo sureste hasta el punto de\ncoordenadas 247160 N y 509580 E, ubicado en la Quebrada Gata a una altitud de 1500 m .s.n.m.; a\npartir de aquí el límite continúa con rumbo general suroeste por la curva de nivel de 1500 m .s.n.m.\nhasta su intersección con el camino que une a las comunidades de Sarchí y Bajos del Toro en el punto\nde coordenadas 243350 N y 502620 E, punto este que prácticamente coincide también con la\nintersección de un camino que conduce al poblado Palmira por el que continua hasta el punto de\ncoordenadas 243200 N y 502100 E, vértice que también lo es de los límites del Parque Nacional Juan\nCastro Blanco y por el que continúa coincidiendo ya que sigue por el citado camino hasta el punto de\ncoordenadas 242500 N y 499760E; continúa en línea recta hasta el punto de coordenadas 243020 N y\n499760 E ubicado sobre la Quebrada Quelital , sobre la que continua aguas arriba hasta sus nacientes\nen el punto de coordenadas 244360 N y 499280 E; de aquí sigue en línea recta hasta  el camino que\nconduce a Palmira en el punto de coordenadas 244360 N 499260 E dejando así el límite del Parque\nNacional citado y continuando por dicho camino hacia Palmira hasta su intersección con otro camino\nque conduce al poblado de San Jerónimo y que a su vez es parte del límite de la Zona Protectora El\nChayóte en el punto de coordenadas 242050 N y 498600 E; continua por ese camino con rumbo general\nSur pasando por los puntos de coordenadas 240450 N y 498900 E; 239250 N y 499320 E, continuando por\nese mismo camino que se supone continua por la divisoria de aguas hasta el punto de coordenadas\n238300 N y 499250 E. A partir de aquí deja el límite de la Zona Protectora El Chayote para seguir en\nlíneas rectas uniendo los puntos de coordenadas 237300 N y 500800 E sobre la Quebrada afluente del\nRío Trojas, a 300 m de la carretera que conduce a Los Angeles; 238600 N y 502000 E sobre el camino y\na 600 m de la intersección con la vía que une las comunidades de Los Angeles y Bajos del Toros\n238600 N y 503S60 E sobre el Río Sarchí, Río que también es límite de la Reserva Forestal de Grecia,\nel límite continúa aguas arriba por dicho Río hasta su naciente en el punto de coordenadas 241000 N\ny 506700 E, tomando luego la divisoria de aguas en la dirección del cauce hasta su intersección con\nel limite del Parque Nacional Volcán Poás en el punto de coordenadas 240600 N y 507000 E; continúa\npor el límite de este Parque, uniendo con líneas rectas los puntos de coordenadas 243200 N y 507000\nE sobre el Río Desagüe y 244000 N y 507350 E sobre el Río Agrio. Continúa aguas abajo hasta un\nafluente del Río Agrio en el punto de coordenadas 244850 N y 507500 E; continúa por este afluente\naguas arriba hasta el punto de coordenadas 244900 N y 507900 E: para continuar en líneas rectas\nuniendo dos puntos de coordenadas 246000 N y 509000 E; 246000 N y 511050 E sobre el cauce de la\nQuebrada Ten Fe.   "body_en_text": "Remember that Control F is an option that allows you to search the entire text\n\n\nGo to the end of the document\n\n- You are viewing the latest version of the regulation -\n\nCreates Río Toro Protective Zone\nArticle record\n\n\n\n\n\nDate generated: 4/5/2026 19:04:04\n\nNo. 22838-MIRENEM\n\n\n\n\n\nTHE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC\n\n\n\n\n\nAND THE MINISTER OF NATURAL RESOURCES, ENERGY AND MINES\n\n\n\n\n\nExercising the powers conferred by Article 140, subsections 3) and 18) of the Political Constitution and based on Articles 10, subsections b) and i), 36 and 37 of the Forest Law (Ley Forestal) No. 7174.\n\n\n\n\n\nConsidering:\n\n\n\n\n\n1°—That the primary function of Protective Zones is the protection of the soil, the regulation of the hydrological regime, the conservation of the environment and hydrographic basins.\n\n\n\n\n\n2°—That there are areas of ecological interest, tourism interest, and aquifer recharge areas of basins that are extremely important for water supply, which are being altered by human action in its various activities, especially agriculture and livestock farming.\n\n\n\n\n\n3°—That it is essential to appropriately protect the Río Toro Basin through adequate measures that guarantee its future conservation.\n\n\n\n\n\n4°—That the Toro 1 and Toro 2 Hydroelectric Project, integrated into the National Interconnected System (SNI), is currently being developed in the area of influence.\n\n\n\n\n\nTherefore,\n\n\n\n\n\nTHEY DECREE:\n\n\n\n\n\nArticle 1—The Río Toro Protective Zone is hereby created, the boundaries of which are included in the Poás, Naranjo and Quesada Cartographic Sheets, Scale 1:50,000, National Geographic Institute (IGN) and are described as follows: Starting from a point located in the channel of the Río Pozo Azul, at an altitude of 1,300 m.a.s.l., at coordinates 249000 N and 509280 E, the boundary begins with a straight line bearing Southwest to the point at coordinates 247300 N and 509150 E, corresponding to the Gato point of the National Trigonometric Network, at an altitude of 1462 m.a.s.l.; it continues bearing southeast to the point at coordinates 247160 N and 509580 E, located on the Quebrada Gata at an altitude of 1500 m.a.s.l.; from here the boundary continues with a general southwest bearing along the 1500 m.a.s.l. contour line to its intersection with the road connecting the communities of Sarchí and Bajos del Toro at the point at coordinates 243350 N and 502620 E, this point also practically coinciding with the intersection of a road leading to the village of Palmira, along which it continues to the point at coordinates 243200 N and 502100 E, a vertex that is also part of the boundaries of the Juan Castro Blanco National Park and along which it continues to coincide since it follows the aforementioned road to the point at coordinates 242500 N and 499760 E; it continues in a straight line to the point at coordinates 243020 N and 499760 E located on the Quebrada Quelital, along which it continues upstream to its headwaters at the point at coordinates 244360 N and 499280 E; from here it follows a straight line to the road leading to Palmira at the point at coordinates 244360 N 499260 E, thus leaving the boundary of the aforementioned National Park and continuing along said road towards Palmira until its intersection with another road leading to the village of San Jerónimo and which, in turn, is part of the boundary of the El Chayote Protective Zone at the point at coordinates 242050 N and 498600 E; it continues along that road with a general South bearing passing through the points at coordinates 240450 N and 498900 E; 239250 N and 499320 E, continuing along that same road which is assumed to continue along the watershed divide to the point at coordinates 238300 N and 499250 E. From here it leaves the boundary of the El Chayote Protective Zone to follow straight lines connecting the points at coordinates 237300 N and 500800 E on the tributary stream (quebrada) of the Río Trojas, 300 m from the highway leading to Los Angeles; 238600 N and 502000 E on the road and 600 m from the intersection with the route connecting the communities of Los Angeles and Bajos del Toro; 238600 N and 503560 E on the Río Sarchí, a river that is also the boundary of the Grecia Forest Reserve, the boundary continues upstream along said river to its headwaters at the point at coordinates 241000 N and 506700 E, then taking the watershed divide in the direction of the channel to its intersection with the boundary of the Volcán Poás National Park at the point at coordinates 240600 N and 507000 E; it continues along the boundary of this Park, connecting with straight lines the points at coordinates 243200 N and 507000 E on the Río Desagüe and 244000 N and 507350 E on the Río Agrio. It continues downstream to a tributary of the Río Agrio at the point at coordinates 244850 N and 507500 E; it continues along this tributary upstream to the point at coordinates 244900 N and 507900 E: to then continue in straight lines connecting two points at coordinates 246000 N and 509000 E; 246000 N and 511050 E on the channel of the Quebrada Ten Fe.
