  "body_en_text": "**Full Text of Rule 30**\n\n**Extraordinary Budget Law**\n\n**Full Text of Act: 308A2**\n\n**1**\n\n**N§ 30**\n\nTHE CONSTITUTIONAL CONGRESS OF THE REPUBLIC OF COSTA RICA\n\nDECREES:\n\n**ARTICLE 1.**—No commercial establishment in the city of San José may remain open on Sundays, nor on Holy Thursday and Good Friday; with the exception of hotels, pharmacies (boticas), bars (cantinas), coffee shops (cafeterías), refreshment stands (refresquerías), bakeries (panaderías), restaurants, inns (hosterías), eating houses (fondas), cigar stores (cigarrerías), gasoline sales outlets, and stalls selling vegetables, fruits, and milk, which shall be open during the hours regulated by law.\n\n**ARTICLE 2.**—The owners of those establishments excluded from the closure obligation pursuant to the preceding article, as well as all owners of commercial establishments in the rest of the country, are obligated to grant each of their employees one day of rest (asueto) per week, with the enjoyment of the corresponding wage or salary.\n\n**ARTICLE 3.**—The owner who violates this law shall be penalized the first time with a fine of two hundred colones (₡ 200.00); the second time with one of five hundred colones (₡ 500.00), and their license (patente) shall be cancelled if they commit the infraction a third time.\n\n**ARTICLE 4.**—The proceeds from these fines shall augment the funds of the Casa de la Madre y del Niño of this city."
