  "body_en_text": "in the entirety of the text\n\n                    -\n\nComplete Text of Regulation 1\n\n                        TSE: Establishes New Identity Card\n\nDECREES\n\nNo.\n1-98\n\nIn accordance with articles 102, subsection 9), 104, subsection 3) of the Political Constitution and 93 of the Organic Law of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal and Civil Registry, and concordant provisions:\n\nConsidering:\n\n1°—That it is the authority of this Tribunal to determine the information that the identity card will contain to fully identify its bearer, as well as to create said document.\n\n2°—That it is the responsibility of the Civil Registry, under the exclusive authority of this Tribunal, to issue identity cards.\n\n3°—That this Tribunal approved the new format of the identity card, which will have the following characteristics:\n\nThe document will be protected by a holographic cover with security lines, the Coat of Arms of Costa Rica and the legend \"República de Costa Rica\". Similar lines and the Coat of Arms will also be visible under ultraviolet light.\n\n4°—That in session number eleven thousand four hundred fifty-four of August seventh, nineteen ninety-eight, this Tribunal ordered the start of production of the new identity card beginning on the twenty-seventh of this same month and year.\n\n5°—That the current cards retain their validity for all legal purposes until the expiration date indicated on them.\n\nDECREES:\n\nArticle 1—To set the twenty-sixth of August, nineteen ninety-eight, as the effective date of the new identity card, from which day it will have full validity in accordance with the provisions of article ninety-five and concordant articles of the Organic Law of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal and the Civil Registry.\n\nArticle 2—Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding article, the current cards will maintain their validity until their expiration date.\n\nArticle 3—Effective as of the twenty-sixth of August, nineteen ninety-eight.
