That the Legislative Assembly, through Ley 8059 of 22 December 2000, published in La Gaceta No. 24 of 2 February 2001, approved the accession of Costa Rica to the Agreement on the Implementation of the Provisions of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea of 10 December 1982, relating to the Conservation and Management of Straddling Fish Stocks and Highly Migratory Fish Stocks, and its Annexes, Open for signature in New York on 4 December 1995.\n\n2. That according to Article 38, the instruments of ratification shall be deposited with the Secretary-General of the United Nations. Therefore:\n\nIn exercise of the powers conferred by subsections 10 and 12 of Article 140 of the Political Constitution of the Republic of Costa Rica,\n\nTHEY DECREE:\n\nArticle 1. The accession of the Republic of Costa Rica to the Agreement on the Implementation of the Provisions of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea of 10 December 1982, relating to the Conservation and Management of Straddling Fish Stocks and Highly Migratory Fish Stocks, and its Annexes, open for signature in New York on 4 December 1995.\n\nArticle 2.
