Por tanto:\n\n \n\nACUERDA:\n\n \n\n        Artículo 1º-Modificar las medidas y características de los DET's por parte\nde la flota camaronera de arrastre de orilla, de tal modo que la medida mínima\ndel mayor marco cuadriculado de la tapa de salida (solapa), sea de 81,28\ncentímetros (32 pulgadas de diámetro mínimo) y una o ambas de las dos\nconfiguraciones mínimas mayores de la abertura de escape sea de 180,34\ncentímetros estirada o cubierta duplicada (71 pulgadas estirada o cubierta\nduplicada).\n\n    Artículo 2º-En aquellos casos en que los marcos de los DET's y las barras\ndeflectoras se construyan con tubo de aluminio, éste deberá tener un diámetro\nmínimo exterior de 3,81 centímetros y un mínimo de 0,32 centímetros (1/8 de\npulgada) del grosor del tubo.\n\n    Artículo 3º-En aquellos casos en que los marcos de los DET's y las barras\ndeflectoras se construyan con varilla de aluminio sólida, éste deberá tener un\ndiámetro mínimo exterior de 1,91 centímetros (3⁄4 de pulgadas).\n\n    Artículo 4º-Las dimensiones mínimas de la parrilla de los DET's deben ser\nde 87,63 centímetros (34,5 pulgadas) por 106,68 centímetros (42 pulgadas),\ncuando éste haya sido construido de varilla de aluminio sólido.\n\n    Artículo 5º-Las dimensiones mínimas de la parrilla de los DET's cuando éste\nhaya sido construido de tubo de aluminio, serán de 99,06 centímetros (39\npulgadas) por 123,83 centímetros (48,75 pulgadas).\n\n    Artículo 6º-En todos los casos el espacio entre las barras deflectoras y el\nmarco de la parrilla de los DET's, no podrá exceder los 15,24 centímetros (6\npulgadas).\n\n    Artículo 7º-Tanto el Departamento de Protección y Registro como el\nDepartamento de Extensión y Capacitación deberán divulgar esta medida.\n\n    Artículo 8º-Este Acuerdo deroga cualquier otra disposición que se le\noponga.\n\n    Artículo 9º-Rige a partir del 1º de setiembre del 2004.",

Therefore:\n\n \n\nAGREES:\n\n \n\nArticle 1-To modify the measures and characteristics of the TEDs (DET's) for the inshore shrimp trawler fleet, such that the minimum measurement of the largest square frame of the exit cover (flap) is 81.28 centimeters (32 inches minimum diameter) and one or both of the two greater minimum configurations of the escape opening be 180.34 centimeters stretched or doubled cover (71 inches stretched or doubled cover).\n\nArticle 2-In those cases where the frames of the TEDs (DET's) and the deflector bars (barras deflectoras) are constructed with aluminum tubing, it shall have a minimum outer diameter of 3.81 centimeters and a minimum tube wall thickness of 0.32 centimeters (1/8 inch).\n\nArticle 3-In those cases where the frames of the TEDs (DET's) and the deflector bars (barras deflectoras) are constructed with solid aluminum rod, it shall have a minimum outer diameter of 1.91 centimeters (3⁄4 inches).\n\nArticle 4-The minimum dimensions of the grid (parrilla) of the TEDs (DET's) shall be 87.63 centimeters (34.5 inches) by 106.68 centimeters (42 inches), when it has been constructed from solid aluminum rod.\n\nArticle 5-The minimum dimensions of the grid (parrilla) of the TEDs (DET's) when it has been constructed from aluminum tubing shall be 99.06 centimeters (39 inches) by 123.83 centimeters (48.75 inches).\n\nArticle 6-In all cases, the space between the deflector bars (barras deflectoras) and the frame of the grid (parrilla) of the TEDs (DET's) shall not exceed 15.24 centimeters (6 inches).\n\nArticle 7-Both the Department of Protection and Registry and the Department of Extension and Training shall disseminate this measure.\n\nArticle 8-This Agreement repeals any other provision that contradicts it.\n\nArticle 9-It shall take effect as of September 1, 2004."
