que repercuten y afectan las descargas de atún en nuestro\nterritorio.\n\n 5º-Que es política oficial el mantener y\nejercer la óptima representación del país en los Organismos Internacionales,\nque garantice la mejor defensa de los intereses de Costa Rica, lo cual debe\nmantenerse respecto de la participación del país, en\nla Comisión Interamericana\ndel Atún Tropical. Therefore,\n\n \n\nTHEY DECREE:\n\n \n\nArticle 1-To designate as Permanent Official Commissioners to the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (CIAT), the Executive President of the Costa Rican Institute of Fisheries and Aquaculture, who shall preside over the Costa Rican delegation at the meetings of that International Body, and the representative of the Exporting Industrial Sector appointed to the INCOPESCA Board of Directors, upon the recommendation of the Costa Rican Chamber of the Tuna Industry, so that both, representing Costa Rica, attend the meetings of the Working Groups, as well as the Annual Meeting of the CIAT, held by the Contracting Parties of the aforementioned Body.\n\nArticle 2-The Executive President of INCOPESCA, jointly with the Institute's Board of Directors, using the powers conferred upon them by the Fisheries and Aquaculture Law, No. 8436, of March 1, 2005, may designate any technical official of the Institution, deemed pertinent, to attend the meetings of the CIAT Technical Working Groups.\n\nArticle 3-The Executive President of INCOPESCA, with the purpose of supporting the work the country performs in the CIAT, may request ex officio the collaboration of the respective Government Ministers, so that, regarding a technical matter scheduled by the CIAT, they may designate a technical-level official as part of the Costa Rican delegation; likewise, a representative of the Longline Tuna Fishing Sector may be designated, who must be proposed by the legally constituted Chambers representing said sector.\n\nArticle 4-It shall be effective upon its publication.\n\n \n\nGiven at the Presidency of the Republic.-San José, on the fourteenth day of the month of March of the year two thousand seven." }
