Artículo Tercero: Los fines de la Asociación son los\nsiguientes: a) Mejorar y ampliar el acueducto existente en Santa María, San\nFrancisco y el Pilar, todos del distrito de Cajón; b) Administrar, observar y\nconservar en buenas condiciones el acueducto, de acuerdo con las disposiciones\ny Reglamentos que al respecto emita el Departamento de Acueductos Rurales del\nInstituto Nacional de Acueductos y Alcantarillados; c) Obtener la participación\nefectiva de la comunidad en la ampliación y el mantenimiento del acueducto; d)\nColaborar en los programas y campañas de índole educativo que se emprendan; e)\nAyudar a explicar y divulgar en la comunidad las disposiciones y Reglamentos\ndel Departamento de Acueductos Rurales del Instituto Nacional de Acueductos y\nAlcantarillados; f) Cooperar con los planes, proyectos y obras que emprenda el\nDepartamento de Acueductos Rurales del Instituto Nacional de Acueductos y\nAlcantarillados en la comunidad; g) Participar en la vigilancia y protección de\nlas fuentes de abastecimiento del acueducto, evitar la contaminación de las\nmismas y ayudar a la protección de las cuencas hidrográficas de la Región.\".\n(Visible a folios 99, 100).\n\nIV.-Que tales fines\nsolventan una necesidad social de primer orden, por lo cual merecen el apoyo\ndel Estado Costarricense.
