año\n\nTexto Completo acta: D03E2\n\nINSTITUTO\nCOSTARRICENSE DE PESCA Y ACUICULTURA\n\n \n\nA.J.D.I.P./118-2010.-Puntarenas, a los dieciséis días\ndel mes de abril de 2010.\n\nConsiderando:\n\n1º-Que de conformidad con\nla Ley Nº 7384, Ley de Creación\ndel INCOPESCA y la Ley Nº\n8436, Ley de Pesca y Acuicultura, es atribución y competencia del INCOPESCA\nestablecer conforme a criterios técnicos, científicos, económicos y sociales,\nlas zonas o épocas de veda, sea por áreas o por especies determinadas, a fin de\nproteger y aprovechar los recursos hidrobiológicos de manera sostenible.\n\n2º-Que está\ndemostrado técnicamente que una de las formas de conservación de los recursos\nhidrobiológicos y de garantizar un aprovechamiento sostenible, es estableciendo\nperíodos y áreas de veda, lo cual resulta conveniente definir para su\naplicación.\n\n3º-Que el Golfo de\nNicoya es un refugio natural para gran variedad de especies y considerado una\nde las zonas pesqueras más importantes del país.\n\n4º-Que de acuerdo con\nlos resultados de las investigaciones que en los últimos años han venido\nrealizando, investigadores del Departamento de Investigación y Desarrollo del\nINCOPESCA, la Escuela de Ciencias Biológicas de la Universidad Nacional y del\nCentro de Investigaciones Marinas de la Universidad de Costa Rica, es urgente y\nnecesario la implementación de medidas de manejo de las principales especies de\nvalor comercial que tienen como hábitat el Golfo de Nicoya Por tanto:\n\nACUERDA:\n\nArtículo 1º-Se prohíbe de manera total a todas las Flotas\nPesqueras Nacionales Comerciales, excepto la flota pesquera\nturística-deportiva, el ejercicio de la actividad pesquera con cualquier tipo\nde arte de pesca del (*)15 de junio al 15 de agosto (inclusive) del año\n2010, en el área comprendida entre una línea recta imaginaria que va desde\nPunta Torres, conocida como Peñón (84°43'52\" Longitud Oeste, 09°53'31\" Latitud\nNorte), al Faro de las Islas Negritos afuera   "body_en_text": "in the entirety of the text\n\n                    -\n\n                        Complete Text of Norm 118\n\n                        All National Commercial Fishing Fleets are totally prohibited,\nexcept the sport-tourism fishing fleet, from engaging in fishing activity with any type of\nfishing gear from June 1 to July 31, and from October 1 to 31 of each year.\n\nComplete Text of record: D03E2\n\nCOSTA RICAN INSTITUTE OF FISHERIES AND AQUACULTURE (INSTITUTO\nCOSTARRICENSE DE PESCA Y ACUICULTURA)\n\nA.J.D.I.P./118-2010.—Puntarenas, on the sixteenth day\nof the month of April, 2010.\n\nWhereas:\n\n1.—That in accordance with\nLaw No. 7384, the Law Creating\nINCOPESCA, and Law No.\n8436, the Fisheries and Aquaculture Law, it is the authority and competence of INCOPESCA\nto establish, based on technical, scientific, economic, and social criteria,\nclosed seasons (épocas de veda) or zones, whether by area or by specific species, in order\nto protect and sustainably utilize hydrobiological resources.\n\n2.—That it is\ntechnically demonstrated that one of the means of conserving hydrobiological\nresources and ensuring sustainable use is by establishing\nclosed seasons and areas, which it is advisable to define for\napplication.\n\n3.—That the Gulf of\nNicoya is a natural refuge for a wide variety of species and is considered one\nof the most important fishing zones in the country.\n\n4.—That according to\nthe results of investigations that, in recent years, have been carried out by\nresearchers from the INCOPESCA Department of Research and Development,\nthe School of Biological Sciences of the Universidad Nacional, and the\nCenter for Marine Research (Centro de Investigaciones Marinas) of the Universidad de Costa Rica, it is urgent and\nnecessary to implement management measures for the main species of\ncommercial value whose habitat is the Gulf of Nicoya.
