  "body_en_text": "Full Text of Norm 17768\n\nRegulates the free delivery of legal publications to the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic\n\nFull Text of record: C597\n\n1\n\nNo. 17768\n\nTHE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC\nAND THE MINISTER OF JUSTICE AND GRACE,\n\nIn accordance with the powers conferred by articles 140, subsection 3) of the Political Constitution and 43 of Law No. 6815 of September 27, 1982;\n\nConsidering:\n\n1º.—That article 43 of the aforementioned Law No. 6815 (Ley Orgánica de la Procuraduría General de la República) provides that \"the Director of the National Printing Office and the legal representatives of the autonomous State institutions, and other public entities, shall send to the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic the number of copies determined by the respective regulation, of every publication of a legal nature that they make, including every new edition of laws and regulations.\"\n\n2º.—That given its condition as the superior consultative, technical-legal body of the Public Administration and legal representative of the State in matters within its competence, it is of vital importance that the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic receive an adequate number of such publications for the better fulfillment of its purposes.\n\n3º.—That the related article 43 has not been regulated.\n\nTherefore,\n\nTHEY DECREE:\n\nArticle 1.—The Director of the National Printing Office and the legal representatives of the autonomous State institutions and other public entities, ex officio and at no cost, shall send to the Legislation Department of the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic thirty copies of every work of a legal nature that they publish.\n\nArticle 2.—Regarding the Official Journal \"La Gaceta\" and the \"Boletín Judicial\", the Director of the National Printing Office shall arrange for the daily delivery of no fewer than fifty copies of each of them. When, in the judgment of the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic, a greater quantity is required, such circumstance shall be communicated by means of a justifying note to the Director of the Printing Office, so that they continue sending the requested quantity.\n\nArticle 3.—With the exception of \"La Gaceta\" and the \"Boletín Judicial\", which shall be used at the discretion of the officials who receive them, the Legislation Department shall keep the copies of the works it receives that it deems necessary for its own use and the rest, at its discretion and taking into account the specialty of each one, shall distribute among the Attorneys and other officials of the Attorney General's Office deemed necessary by reason of their functions, who shall keep them in their respective offices for as long as they hold their positions, being obliged to return them upon ceasing their exercise.\n\nArticle 4.—The Legislation Department is empowered to exchange, with national or foreign institutions, copies of the works referred to in this Regulation, for others of a similar nature that are deemed convenient.\n\nArticle 5.—Said Department shall likewise keep duly bound collections of \"La Gaceta\" and the \"Boletín Judicial\" for the better fulfillment of the competencies of the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic.\n\nArticle 6.—This Decree is effective from its publication and repeals Executive Decree No. 2480 of August 22, 1972.\n\nGiven at the Presidency of the Republic.—San José, on the twenty-ninth day of the month of September of nineteen hundred and eighty-seven."
