Notwithstanding the foregoing, trees may be felled for reforestation purposes and the replacement of exotic species with native ones, as well as the cutting of individual trees that pose a risk to the safety of users of Parque La Sabana, provided they are replaced according to the technical criteria of the National System of Conservation Areas (Sistema Nacional de Áreas de Conservación, Sinac).\"\n\nIt shall become effective upon its publication.\n\nGiven at the Presidency of the Republic, San José, on the twelfth day of October of the year two thousand twelve."
