Se celebra el 5 de junio de cada año desde 1973.\n\nV.-Que los objetivos principales de la celebración de ese día, son\nmotivar a las personas para que se conviertan en agentes activos del desarrollo\nsustentable y equitativo; promover el papel fundamental de las comunidades en\nel cambio de actitud hacia temas ambientales y fomentar la cooperación para que\nel medio ambiente sea sostenible, pues esto garantizará que todas las naciones\ny personas disfruten de un futuro más próspero y seguro.\n\nVI.-Que parte de este esfuerzo mundial, Costa Rica por medio del MINAE\ndecidió establecer un espacio de dispersión que fusiona las manifestaciones\nculturales y recreativas con la educación ambiental, a partir del 5 de junio de\ncada año, denominado Feria Ambiental, dirigido a la ciudadanía y que integra\ndiferentes entidades públicas e iniciativa privada, la cual reúne distintos\npuestos informativos relacionados con el tema ambiental así como presentaciones\nartísticas, científicas y culturales vinculadas al manejo de los recursos\nnaturales. It is celebrated on June 5 of each year since 1973.\n\nV.-That the main objectives of celebrating this day are\nto motivate people to become active agents of sustainable\nand equitable development; to promote the fundamental role of communities in\nchanging attitudes toward environmental issues and to foster cooperation so that\nthe environment is sustainable, as this will guarantee that all nations\nand people enjoy a more prosperous and secure future.\n\nVI.-That as part of this global effort, Costa Rica through MINAE\ndecided to establish a dissemination space that merges cultural\nand recreational manifestations with environmental education, starting on June 5 of\neach year, called the Feria Ambiental (Environmental Fair), aimed at the citizenry and integrating\ndifferent public entities and private initiative, which brings together different\ninformation stands related to environmental topics as well as artistic,\nscientific and cultural presentations linked to the management of natural\nresources.
