  "body_en_text": "across the entire text\n\n                    -\n\n                        Full Text of Rule 191\n\n                        Adopts Resolution No. C-11-10 on the Conservation of the Oceanic Whitetip Shark\n(Carcharhinus longimanus)\n\nFull Text of Record: FC7D7\n\nCOSTA RICAN INSTITUTE OF FISHERIES\n\nAND AQUACULTURE\n\nAJDIP/191-2014.—Puntarenas, on the nineteenth day of June,\ntwo thousand fourteen.\n\n    Considering:\n\n1.—That Costa Rica, as a member country of the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission, in accordance with the provisions, responsibilities, and competencies that assist it, must abide by, comply with, and follow up on the resolutions and recommendations issued by said Commission.\n\n2.—That it is the responsibility of the Costa Rican Institute of Fisheries and Aquaculture, in accordance with the provisions of Laws No. 7384 and No. 8436, to regulate and control the sustainable use of fishery resources, as well as the use of the corresponding fishing gear in each fishery, the permitted methods, zones, and seasons, as well as the issuance of fishing licenses, permits, and authorizations with the technical regulations.\n\n3.—That by virtue of the Antigua Convention having approved Resolution C-11-10, on the conservation of the oceanic whitetip shark, caught in the area of the Antigua Convention, our country must establish the measures and actions that are necessary in order to comply with said provision, reason for which, the Board of Directors of INCOPESCA,\n\nAGREES:\n\n1.—To adopt Resolution C-11-10, resolution on the Conservation of the Oceanic Whitetip Shark (Carcharhinus longimanus) caught in association with fishing in the area of the Antigua Convention.\n\n2.—Retention on board, transshipment, landing, storage, sale, or offering for sale of oceanic whitetip sharks, in part or whole, in the fisheries covered by the Antigua Convention is prohibited.\n\n3.—When incidental catches of whitetip sharks occur, they must be promptly released unharmed, to the extent possible, and INCOPESCA must be informed, which will notify the IATTC, of the number of discards and releases of oceanic whitetip sharks with an indication of their status (alive or dead), for which this information must be recorded in the vessel's logbook.\n\n4.—Effective upon its publication.\n\n5.—Final Agreement."
