Fishing for domestic consumption does not require authorization; however, the interested party must respect closed seasons (vedas), maximum catch quotas, and other regulations issued by INCOPESCA.\n\n2. Natural persons engaged in this activity must be registered with INCOPESCA.\n\n3. Domestic consumption fishing may only be carried out using rods, reels, or hand lines that the fisher can use individually.\n\n4. The product obtained through domestic fishing may not be commercialized.\n\n5. Fish aggregating devices may not be used in fishing for domestic consumption.\n\n6. The hooks used must be size 6 or 7 and type J.\n\n7. Fishing for domestic consumption shall be granted only to those persons who demonstrate domicile and residence in coastal communities with fishing activity and who carry out the activity to provide food for themselves and their family, defined as the authorized person's family unit. They may not catch more than five specimens per day.\n\n8. The Directorate of Fisheries and Aquaculture Organizations must issue an opinion on the socioeconomic condition of the applicant.\n\n9.
